Scott Noel Lecture / by Aaron Michael Thompson

In my time with PAFA I spent a lot of time deciphering Scott Noels critiques and rants. He was the most frequent of my MFA Critic Advisers, and I was the Teaching Assistant for five of his classes.  I grew to have a great deal of respect for him as a painter and a person. He is a vast well of information and insights, is sincere in his efforts to mentor, and I am grateful to continue to learn from him. Scott gave an extensive lecture at The Kentucky School of Art in which he speaks about his influences and work over the past thirty years.  I thought this is a great opportunity for those who have not heard him speak about art to take an ear. There are two parts two the lecture, part one is here, and part two here. Enjoy!
